Atlanta Life Insurance Company is the lone surviving Black-founded insurance company in America. We were founded in 1905 by Alonzo Herndon — a formerly enslaved man who became Atlanta's first Black millionaire — and we have served families on Sweet Auburn Avenue and across the country for 120 years.

Under new leadership in 2024 (CEO Eric Holoman) and in partnership with Earvin 'Magic' Johnson's EquiTrust Life Insurance, we are restoring the heritage of the brand: life, health, and final-expense insurance built around protecting Black families, building generational wealth, and honoring the legacy that started it all.
